Darren Denard Marshall, lovingly known as “Big One,” was born to Julie M. Thompson and Joe L. Mathis on January 23, 1965, in Barbour County, Alabama. Darren accepted Christ at an early age and had his own personal relationship with God. He was educated in the Barbour County/Eufaula City School Systems. Darren had several hobbies and was a Jack-of-all-trade, but he was especially passionate about God, his girls, The Steelers, and welding. He departed this life on Friday, November 27, 2020. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lillie Bell Moore; Father, Joe L. Mathis; Aunt, Judy L. Latham; and Stepfather, Joe. L. Thompson. He leaves to cherish his memories to his mother, Julie M. Thompson, of Dothan, Alabama; Daughters: Daborah (Morris) Smith and Nakeisha Evans; Mother of his girls, Jackie Marshall; Grandchildren: Saniyah Laster, Zion Smith, and Isaac Smith; Sisters: Monica (Laron Anderson) Marshall, Dothan, AL, Latisha (Thomas Hicks) Thompson, Stevenson, AL, Julie L. Thompson, Centerville, GA, Kimberly Thompson, Dothan, AL, Dionna Latham, Cynthia Smith, Theresa Robinson, Jo Ann Mathis Bonsell, and Aleyse Melvin; Brothers: Troy Marshall, Atlanta, GA, Tobias Thompson, Eric Marshall, Chuck Mathews, Donald Latham, Darnell (Vanesse) Latham, Atlanta, GA, and Bruce A.
